Who will bell the cat? Definitely not a mice!
After reading and forwarding this, some people will say “fake news” or “hate speech”; the fact is everything is verifiable and the links are inline the texts.
It will appear that the present Nigerian government along with its commander in chief and the military echelon are either at their wits end or simply in cahoots with these murderous gangs, I will leave you to draw your conclusions after piecing the information together for the big picture.
As at early 2015 before the Presidential election, the Nigerian military had been able to push back the terrorist group boko haram and made Borno safe enough for peaceful voting to take place. Hitherto held territories were taken back and the criminals pushed deep into Sambisa forest.
One of the reasons for the Nigerian military poor showing could be traced to lack of weapons (no thanks to Obama and APC), a deliberate sabotage by the then US president who directly and actively prevented Nigeria from buying weapons, ably supported by the then opposition who saw Nigerian lives as acceptable losses, a stance they have continued with even as they are in power and government.
I love logic, its devoid of emotion and sentiment. So lets apply a bit of logic.
The present government under buhari, a former Major general of the Nigerian army who according to history is war experienced came in with the promise to defeat boko haram within 6 months, forget the fact that this same man spoke in favor of boko haram so much so boko haram nominated him to be one of their mediators in an attempted negotiation few years back.
Six months after taking both government and power as the Commander in chief of the Nigerian armed forces, buhari was unable to fulfil his promise. He along with his band of geniuses decided a month later to declare a technical victory over boko haram.
As usual, the praise singers (both the paid ones and those just not smart enough to understand) amplified the obvious lie and attributed every voice of sanity to either hatred or hate speech.
They also regale us with how buharis integrity contributed to the victory of the Nigerian Army over boko haram, they informed us that Nigerian Army now had weapons with which to fight and that corruption was a thing of the past in the military echelon. Even when properties in Dubai were traced to the Chief of army staff in the person of General Buratai, we were told by the EFCC that buratai bought those properties with proceeds of snake farming (by the way the venom market is a lucrative one) and savings from his salary. EFCC went on to hound and close down the Nigerian company office that sold buratai the said properties (ask Magu why).
At this juncture, using the buharis government own words, Nigeria Army was now militarily equipped to combat and technically defeat boko haram and they did (technically). The defeat was so good that the army turned Sambisa forest into an eldorado and them moved to telling us that the terrorists were now fleeing Sambisa, to prove this, they brought boko harams flag to President buhari, a flag the President flew right inside government property. (Note this point).
Exactly 24 months after Boko haram had been technically defeated and Shekaus flag and koran captured, buhari proceeded to attempt to take $1bn (360bn naira) from the ECA (from the empty treasury he said he met) to fight the defeated boko haram again!?
At this point, the sane people became confused. How can you need $1bn to fight the enemy you have defeated? How did the technically defeated terrorist group become powerful again? Is it that they were not defeated and the man of integrity was simply lying or that they were defeated but now have access to more fighters and weapons?
In between the two years that Boko haram was technically defeated and the request for $1bn to fight them, money appears to have exchanged hands between this government and the terrorists. First was the return of the chibok girls who were locked up after the return. After the questioning of the logic behind request for the $1bn, another dramatic abduction happened in Daphci and even more dramatic rescue took place, again money moved from buharis government to another faction of these terrorists.
Forgive me for this long preamble, without it the context would be incomplete.
All these could be said to be water under the bridge until you look deeply at the recent attacks on Nigeria military formation in Yobe state where over 600 soldiers are reportedly missing and the cover up by the military.
Boko haram seems to have gained renewed strength after this government (against world best practices) began funding their terrorism by paying them ransom. The most intriguing part of the Yobe formation overrun is the fact that these terrorists, suspected to be the faction that abducted the Dapchi girls and got paid about €5m are responsible for the attack. Now what many people missed is that the soldiers in that formation were fresh troops from Lagos who were just settling down.
That the terrorists have insiders in the government is arguably a certainty, because the reason they were let into the barracks is because the real soldiers thought they were part of the reinforcements being expected and these terrorists played the part!, they came dressed as soldiers! You should note that these terrorists reportedly went away with weapons, munitions and Nigerian military operational vehicles, is this a means of equipping a terrorist group with weapons as the same military caught napping have quickly reestablished presence in the Jilli area but the terrorists gone with their trophies?
Why would a supposedly experienced war General pay ransom to terrorists he wants to defeat? Why would he lie about such a strategic and dire matter? Why is he keeping ineffective commanders as his service chiefs if he is not satisfied with their performance? How can he be satisfied with their performance if he truly cares about the safety of Nigerians?
The most disturbing part of this unfolding drama is the ethnicity of the military casualties, there I will not draw conclusions but wait for you to do so as the obituaries of the military casualties surface, if they happen to be mostly southerners and of the Christian faith then….. it would be time not only for yomilawal but you to bell the cat, and also to let the king know that he is naked and that Nigeria is not his fiefdom nor a kingdom.
Here are some of the tributes to the galant soldiers already surfacing on social media
NB: This government has to choose one narrative, either boko haram has been defeated and we are dealing with a new threat or accept the buhari government unwittingly (or deliberately) empowered boko haram and is at a loss on what to do or admit to be in cahoots with the group; or do you have any logical explanation?
