Too many laws in one state and we have a state of coma!
My sister had a friend whom during a discussion was told that another friend of theirs was in a state of coma and he asked with all seriousness “which country is the state in?” Hehehe, ignorance at its highest order or is it just zero grasp of English language?
Well, it seems that state of coma is in Nigeria, look no further than Lagos state hehehe!
Lagos state is being legislated into a state of coma by the half literate state assembly bent on implementing all the laws they have seen in different states of the different countries they have travelled to using the tax payers hard earned money for ‘estacode’ (naija english no go kill me! hehehe) and flight tickets.
I believe that in those countries, their governments sat down and brainstormed on how to solve their local problem, took into account that those laws don’t violate human rights and fulfilled their own social contract before coming up with such laws.
The funny thing is that the only laws our state assembly copy are those that require payment of fines by the violators and from the huge fines in relation to the minimum wage of 18000 naira, it seems they were too tired or just not mathematics savvy to prorate the fines in those countries to match our own minimum wage, so the fine of not beautifying your house is 250,000 naira, very stupidly funny isn’t it?
And what is with the hefty fines tied to those funky laws? Seems more like they need more money after selling Lagos state to internal (I didn’t mention acn o) and external companies in the name of PPP or BOT or whatever name they choose to call their vehicle for illegal taxation.
Guess they need to change their Prados (way to go Toyota) and build more houses in estates like magodo and co where they disposed land owners of their lands through the land use act that pertinently needed to be enforced hehehe!
I took my time to carry out a little research on similar stupid laws in other countries and discovered that illiteracy is not peculiar to State of Coma assembly alone, hehehe, see the following links for such crazy laws. http://www.buzzle.com/articles/crazy-laws.html
And for the state of coma lawmakers go here http://www.strangestlaws.com you can go copy more laws from there, save the travel money for sensible things.
The difference between those places and Lagos is that the stupid laws are not all in one state. In fact they seem to exist in what you will call local government areas.
but the State of Coma lawmakers are so lazy they have simply copied and pasted so many laws (I hope they changed the names, won’t be surprised to see “denver” or “delaware”) that lagos would surely soon go into a law induced coma hehehe;
I won’t also be surprised if they wake up tomorrow and come up with an alcohol induced law that its now a crime to insult the house members! Hehehe or where do such inspirations come from? it is unlawful for livestock to cross the road but if i hit an animal on the road i have to wait by it else i would be guilty of killing livestock that were not supposed to cross the roads hehehe!
Eko oni baje o!
Please what happened to the Latsma officials that committed perjury against that woman they tried to hang a murder charge on? Promoted I guess hehehe
And for those people lauding the ass of traffic laws, google “freedom” and “democracy” then repeat after me “I deserve neither”, hehehe
Expect the “don’t breathe whilst walking law soon”
