Letter To the Emperor
Freedom is rarely ever taken away suddenly especially during peace times; they are gradually stripped a right at a time.
A ruler rarely becomes a tyrant immediately he gets on the throne; tyranny creeps in, one act at a time.
The law is not always right because it has no fixed standard; it is dependent on the knowledge available at that time.
So my dear Emperor, to enact and feel righteous is a risky endeavor that usually ends on the wrong side of history.
When eating whilst on my beast becomes a crime; and drinking a punishable offence, what thence is thy aim my king?
For from a tuber you demanded a fifth and I thus did give. From my chicken you asked for a tenth, yet I still gave!
To ride my horse becomes a problem for I cannot tie it up; with my gives you and thy court buy chariots for thine use.
Remember, great and wise men once thought the earth was the center of the universe yet they were wrong.
Greatness doesn’t mean infalibility my king!
To the man on the throne is the danger of deafness for the noise of the horde in the court drowns that of reason.
Brutus did dagger great Ceaser in solidarity with the Senate; take heed of the acolytes of those who feed fat with thy name my Rex!
From sunrise to moon down, their laws are self serving for feeding has become a frenzy.
Claiming to have been to Britannia and Atlantis, keeping one eye open and their minds shut like a strong room!
Nothing kills faster than ruling a republic; immortality comes from leading a republic, heed the voice of the people my king!
Now to this burning question dear Emperor; pay I rent on the land I have inherited?
Share I my food with officials from thy courts in the name of the state?!
In the land of the bound is the forced labor of slaves!
Why exhibit the three stages of slavery and claim legitimacy on the laws of freedom?!
I was born free my king, were you born a royalty my king?
Oppression is more apparent to the receiver, let the ruler beware for the boundary is thin like that between life and death!
To stand for the rights of the voiceless is to live on the good side of history.
History however has a way on standing on its side!
So dear Emperor, taint not thine hard earned works with a few silly laws.
Common sense doesn’t belong to commoners alone.
Sound reasoning not the exclusive preserve of lawmakers alone!
Your traffic laws modifications are draconian governor Fashola;
Review it and don’t be a slave of a hungry assembly!
